Statin After Bypass Surgery

Study: Statins lower stroke risk after bypass

People who take statins after coronary artery bypass graft surgery may reduce their risk of stroke, U.S. researchers say. A study of more than 5,200 bypass patients showed that those who took statins were more likely to have lower bad cholesterol levels than patients who didn't take the meds. The statin users were also significantly less likely to suffer a post-operative stroke one year after their surgery. Read more »
