Qnexa leads to nine percent weight loss: study

According to drugmaker Vivus Inc., the company's experimental obesity drug Qnexa helped patients in a recent trial lose an average of 9.2 percent of their body weight. Overall, 66 percent of study patients treated with full-dose Qnexa achieved weight loss of five percent or more, compared to 1.7 percent of patients given a placebo. Qnexa is a combination of phentermine--half of the recalled fen-phen diet pill--and the epilepsy drug Topamax. Read more »
