"Natural openings" may ease weight-loss surgery

Weight-loss surgery that is done through "natural openings" such as the mouth or the vagina significantly reduce the risk of post-surgical complications, experts say. In this new method, surgeons use body orifices rather than making an abdominal cut. Experts say gallbladder surgeries and gastrectomies have been performed this way, and bariatric surgeries will soon utilize the method.
