Staying fit may require 50 minutes of exercise per day

Experts typically recommend 30 minutes of exercise per day for optimum health, but new guidelines from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) say that if you want to lose weight you may need more. The ACSM guidelines say that 250 minutes per week--or approximately 50 minutes per day for five days--is recommended for Americans who want to lose weight and keep it off.
