Woman has brain surgery for weight loss

A woman from West Virginia became the second person to have deep brain stimulation for weight loss. Carol Poe, age 60, underwent the procedure that doctors say will generate pules of electricity in the brain that control the her feelings of hunger and satisfaction. The program in West Virginia is part of a clinical trial approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.  Read full story >
