Maximum weight limit may be easier to understand than BMI

A statistician has developed a "maximum weight limit" that he says may be easier for people to understand than the body mass index (BMI) scale when it comes to determining their ideal weight. The method sets a baseline height and weight: five foot nine and 175 pounds for men, and five foot and 125 pounds for women. For every inch above or below that height, men should add 5 pounds, and women 4.5 pounds.  Read full story >
