Rheumatoid arthritis is another form of arthritis. The
bodyâs own immune system attacks a
jointâs synovial membrane, which secretes fluid
and lines the joint. The synovium becomes inflamed, produces excess
fluid, and the cartilage becomes rough and
pitted. Â
