these injections are painfull and expensive. i was told that nothing is guaranteed with these injections and if you have an egg allergy or sensitivity be carefull. nothingh cure s osteoarthritis. but the docs are ready to give you the injections with the first appointment. i would rater suffer and and exercise and pamper me than have something injected in my body.
Is anybody pursuing the approval of HA injections into the hip joint?
Is there any doctor that needs volunteers for testing it?
I would be a willing volunteer. Please reply to mike@olteanu.org
I had my first shot monday, before i got the shot my doc had to aspirate fluid from my knee. my problem is this, how often can my doc aspirate more fluid from my knee? I am going back this monday for my second round, but this left knee is even more swollen and stiff. I just can't stand to have all of this fluid buildup on my knee. I tried icing the knee but to no avail. I also tried riding my stationary bike, hoping that this would help flush out the fluid. Please help! I am so miserable with all of this fluid on board! Thanks!
I have been doing ballet for 30 years. I had a synvisc injection in my hip last August 09. While I am not completely pain free, but I have been able to take almost all of the 1 1/2 hour ballet classes including pointe classes. I cannot do "big jumps" any more, but can do "small jumps." I also go to the gym and work out with weights, and do water exercises as well.
It has been approximately 9 months since my synvisc injection and would consider it again. I received 1 injection containing 6cc of synvisc, rather than 3 separate injections containing 2cc each.
The joint was very sore for the first day after the injection, and I used a cold pack which gave some relief. I began water exercises the second day, and returned to ballet class the third day.
