I'm 48 and  have always maintained my body weight in the ideal range fr my  height .osteoarthitis runs in my family and I experienced  swelling and stiffness of finger joints 4 yrs ago .

I happened to start cod liver oil capsules daily around that time for chronic colds I had been suffering from for many years .To my delight  over time this not only got rid of my cold but also the swelling and pain in my fingers .However last yr in my desire to participate in a marathon I started running on the treadmill in the gym and this to my horror led to severe pain in my knees .I immediately stopped running though I still walk and do some exercises .There is still some  pain (very mild now) at times which I try to manage with bathing the affected area with warm water .my doc has suggested that I have glucosamine for 3 months .Is that ok .I wonder if the pain in my knees would have been avoided had I not started running.

I have OA and I'm a second year PTA student and the way you suggest stretching is really complex and hard to understand. Couldn't you clear it up? Even though I've learned stretching exercise in my class, I am still having trouble wrapping my head around what you said. I don't think this article would be helpful to most people.
