Hyalgan knee injections

After an arthroscopy and MRIs of both knees, I have been diagnosed with Grade 3 osteoarthritis. My ortho. doc. suggests Hyalgan injections for my knees. I would like to know more about the success of this drug. Risks vs. benefits.

Has anyone heard of the benefit of taking silicon drops- trace mineral-to promote bone and cartilage growth?
