Hi my story,

I have had Osteoarthritis to my left hip for over 6 years and had a hip replacement done last May 2010 and i am in a lot more pain than i was before i had the operation, still have more pain a year on.  I had an exray 3 weeks ago and the joint is fine.  My problem is with the mussle tissue around the joint or the lack of. and the nerve ending's.  After the operation my whole leg feet and toe's were twice the size they should have been, and was the same when i was discharged.  Three days after coming home i had my doctor out to me as the pain and the swelling was very bad, she started giving me injections into my tummy she throught i had a blood ended up going back into hospital.  The pain was really bad i was nearly in tears and i have a good pain thresh hold, they took me of an ultra scan and when the lady put the gel on and applied the thing to scan i screemed in agony and a flood of tears.   Got back to er and a few hours later the doctor came and said that there was not a blood clot and sent me home saying they did not know why i had sutch swelling.  A year later i am still in a hell of a lot of pain and taking Morphine 40mg, Tamadol 200mg, Amitripyline 40 mg Naproxen , Paracetamo 4000mg, Lansoprazole 15mg to stop tummy pain from the tablets and Senna tablets to stop constipation per day and still i am in pain.  They have said my mussle and nerve endings have not knitted back to geather and they can not do anything about it, which has left a hole in my left buttuck and can tuch the joint.  

Has anyone out their suffered the same as myself.
