Controversies
As with all areas within medicine, there are many opinions regarding the timing of hip replacement, the choice of pain medicine and approaches to surgical management for patients with advanced disease. Constant improvements in materials, new surgical approaches and enhanced drug safety make the management of hip osteoarthritis both an art and science, for patients and physicians alike.
