Hi Lene

I spent 20 years thinking that I was too sore and too fragile and fatigued to exercise.  The physio I see told me that I should be in "preservation" mode with my feet.

She gave me a muscle tensing exercise to do and that one little thing led a (smart) doctor to tell me that I had good abs.  With that encouragement I kept on going and now do Arthro-Pilates with a trainer.  At least I can do that lying down mostly.

Too bad I did not realize how much I needed exercise before I developed osteoporosis.

there hasn't been enough emphasis on exercise in the past or enough focus on helping people with RA to stay strong. I'm glad you have a smart doctor and that you now no doubt have abs of steel! Wink

have you checked out our Osteoporosis site? Lots of good information to manage this condition. Pam Flores, the Community Leader for the site, has just posted about a fun osteoporosis awareness challenge you might be interested in. And while I'm at it with the links, if you haven't yet, check out our amazing arthritis awareness contest - some great prizes and it closes next week.
