Teenage Sports Injuries: Silent Epidemic?

In a recent post on CNN.com, teenage sports injuries are referred to as the Silent Epidemic .  With more and more competitive sports in the lives of younger and younger individuals, there is little doubt that there is an increase in sports injuries, many of which may lead to arthritis of joints.

 

For those of you suffering from arthritis: did you play sports as a kid?  Did excessive activity and/or untreated injury lead to the pain you experience now?

 

I know that I, personally, never learned how to run properly, and am sure that I will feel it in a few years in my feet, hips, ankles, knees, etc. from overuse.
