At a Glance

Though osteoarthritis is not life threatening, the disease can seriously effect quality of life.  Pain and immobility are products of osteoarthritis.  It is estimated that five percent of those who leave work for medical reasons do so for osteoarthritis.  Symptoms can be controlled, though, through exercise, proper diet and caring for the affected joints.
