If you think there is something else wrong or if your doctor doesn't seem to be answering your questions or helping you manage your pain, then you should see another doctor.

Scoliosis can appear at any age, according to the NIH. Idiopathic scoliosis is the most common type in children aged 10-12 and in their early teens. Girls are more likely than boys to have this type of scoliosis. Scoliosis can also run in families.

Here's some more information about scoliosis, osteoarthritis and back pain.

You should get a thorough evaluation by an orthopedist or some other specialist.

Osteoarthritis and joint pain is happening in younger people now, but there are things you can do to help it and prevent worsening of the condition.

First, make sure you have a doctor that makes you comfortable and is really helping you manage your condition. Dr. Grant Cooper on this site is writing an article about how to choose a good doctor for this kind of thing. Look for the article this coming Monday (Aug. 4).

Good luck and best health!
