Saturday, May 16, 2009 Jennie asks

Q: Hi, I had a baby girl 6 monhs ago. 2 weeks ago all of a sudden my left elbow got swollen, got lots o

got lots of pain, applied ice & took advil extra strength. after couple of days it went away. 2 days later reappeared in my right knee. similar symptoms..lasted about the same..

THEN in my right foot on the left side of ankle, then right side, then back of calf towards foot, my big toe on same foot & NOW is in my joint in the ball of my same right foot. It seems to be travelling. I am taking some anti-inflammatory now as my doc doesn't know whats causing it. Gout, Uric Acid tests are normal. I know I am overweight due to pregnancy but the pains are severe & now while I was getting up I supported myself on my right hand & my wrist is hurting a little. I am very afraid if this is going to be the new site for pain to start...life is totally on hold as I have a baby & a preschooler to take care of.  I can't even sleep properly as the pain is severe as if something is broken. Somebody please help if u know about what could be causing it. I am breast feeding & I am 31 years old

You should go see a doctor but sometimes with pregnancy this may occur. it could either be nothing or something big. sorry if i am not of any help i am simply using this from my knowledge. but if you are worried you should definantly go with you first instinct. you always have it (its a mom thing) Smile

Thanks for your reply. I did go to the doctor. bloodwork & x-rays r fine. its just that Gout or arthritis doesn't come in blood tests but you can still have it.. So I guess I just have to live with it until I get something serious & then they will start treating me ...very ironic....Thanks
