Arthritis a general term that simply means that the joint is inflammed. Yes, arthritis can go away. Depending on the cause and whether or not the arthritis is treated correctly, arthritis is temporary usually. For example, some forms of arthritis are cause by an infection. With the right antibiotic and treatment, infectious arthritis can go away. The best course of action is to get a more specific diagnosis than "arthritis" and then the treatment pathway might lead to a resolution.
