There isn't necessarily a "normal" treatment for osteoarthritis. Treatment depends on the person's condition, pain and needs. Normal for you would be whatever you and your doctor decide will help you best to continue doing everything you need and want to do every day.   Osteoarthritis pain is not really a disease of old age. Scientists now say it's the result of injury or trauma, birth defects and even metabolic disorders and obesity. So, your arthritis isn't different from "normal" arthritis. OA can occur after an injury and is pretty much the same as arthritis that may happen when you get old.   Osteoarthritis is typically treated with painkillers, anti-inflammatory medicine and/or exercise to stengthen the muscles and ligaments around the joints. You may benefit from all of these, but work closely with your doctors to find what works for you (especially since your pain is not in your joints only).   I hope this helps! Good luck,   Joy B.
