OA of cervical C1-C2, anyone else have this after ACDF C3-C6?  I have constant pain at top of cervical spine.  Accupuncture relieved some of the muscle spasms.  Doc just ordered mutliple blood tests for RA.   What have you found most helpful?

I know it has been a long time, but I hope you will still find this helpful.Smile

For some reason, Celebrex works better for me with this type of pain, more so than other NSAIDS.  Secondly, warm compresses are wonderful.  They sell an ace bandage with a microwavable insert.   Just don't put it on too tight, and be careful not to burn yourself.  (Be very careful, this was not meant to be wrapped around your neck obviously.) This supplies directed heat for a very long time.

If you have other cerical nerve problems, try laying down with both hands behind your head.  Once again, be careful, I have trashed my one shoulder from doing this way too much.  And a tens unit helps out with radiculopathy pain.

Good luck!

The breakdown of cartilage in the knee can lead to bony protrusions called spurs and considerable joint pain.
