Hang in there! A rheumatologist should be able to help you. Such wide spread joint pain can be a number of different things such as gout, rheumatoid arthritis or reactive arthritis.
While you are waiting for an appointment for a specialist, you can prepare for that appointment by:
Talking to your primary doctor and getting some preliminary test done.
Optimizing your health by eliminating unhealthy habits like smoking and excessive sugar.
Writing a summary of your problem i.e. timeline of symptoms, tests, and treatment
All of this will help you get the most out of your appointment.

Hello, GA Girl. I have stomach problems too, so I take Zantac 150 mg and eat something before I take my Celebrex every morning. I tried going w/o anti-inflammatory meds, but I cannot do it. The pain is too intense. Maybe you could ask your doctor if you could try Celebrex and something to protect your stomach.
Best Wishes,

Hello Desperate Deb,
I too have been dealing with unbearable pain in my ankles and feet. I went to my PCP and then an ortho who did surgery on my right ankle. The pain did not stop at all. I kept going to PT and I was becoming very frustrated because i want getting better and I couldnt figure out why. I asked my PT guy to recommend a Podiatrist and he ran some tests and it turns out I have lupus. They did an ANA test along w/ some other tests. I now have to wait for my appointment with a Rhumatologist. They will run more tests and hopefully come up w/ an overall treatment plan. I know the pain you are in. I would tell your PCP to get you on a better pain killer and an anti inflamatory until you can see a rhumatologist. It helps a bit and can make it so you might be able to have some function. I have been dealing with my foot/ankle pain since Nov. 2010. Dont let the doctors push you around. Tell them what you want! I will send some prayers for you.
