Q: Smoking and Pain Reduction--Does Quitting Really Help Ease the Physical Pain?

I know a lot of people despise smokers. But, I ask you to be completely objective becauise I really would like to know how much pain could be relieved from quitting smoking.

For those who don't smoke--smoking is involuntary and reflexive and very hard to stop.  Please be open about this. I don't nag others about eating drinking etc....

I have osteo-arthritis in my spine, both lower and upper. The lower is the more painful. I live in a freezing cold climate where the air is heavy which also doesn't help the pain. If anyone is California is reading this and wants to adopt a housebroken Canadian let me know!

I'm almost at my wit's end with stupid borning pain which interferes with things I like to do! And I'm too depressed to do my job and am suffering that way too!

I use to smoke and quit about 5 years ago. I didn't see any difference in my

pain level, one way or another.

Good luck if you try to quit. It is the hardest thing I have ever done! I'm not

sure I could quit again. That's the only reason I don't smoke now.
