Does this loss of range of motion prevent you from bowling, golfing or playing softball (being a catcher is not realistic BTW)? Probably not. Knee flexion range of motion to 90 degrees is still considered quite functional. So I would not get so concerned about the number.

Your experience with a loss of range of motion is probably due to the healing process of scar tissue formation and tightening of the surround soft tissues of the knee joint.

Your naturally active lifestyle should help you naturally maintain what you have now.
