Hi Muriel,

Thank you for your question. Morphine is a type of pain medication that can be used to treat very painful osteoarthritis. Your doctor knows your condition and is the best person to make these decisions. If you have questions as to why he chose this medication, your best bet would be to ask him directly.

Best of luck,

Casey

I can't imagine being able to function mentally day to day, even with the lack of pain. How do you do it?

The breakdown of cartilage in the knee can lead to bony protrusions called spurs and considerable joint pain.
