Hello. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but recently, i've been trying to separate my multiple sclerosis issues from other neuro/ortho issues. My nec has been experiencing everything from occasional wear feeling, sharp pains in the tissue, and dull pains. The symptoms are not constant, and never occur at the same time, but the alarming thing is that i've had light tingling in my left finger tips, and left big toe.
This seems like a compressed nerve, but the CTs of my cervical and thoracic spine showed no canal narrowing, or misalignment--other than the cervical showing a "gentle scoliotic curve" which the report thought to be caused by a muscle spasm, or my position on the CT table. The confusion stems from the fact i've had MS for 13 years and the tingling in the extremities are indicative of MS.
My question is: do i need to see an orthopedic specialist (i'm trying to find one who deals with the neck and spine), and are the CT results anything to worry about--since (confusingly) they show no dangerous abnormalities, but i'm experiencing all of these symptoms?

Dr. Lasich, please excuse my late reply, and thank you so much for responding.
My longtime neurologist thinks (as of 4/2012) that my various head and neck issues are MS related, but then again, he (and my primary care doctor) are trying to send me to an actual MS specialist in case he "overlooked" something.
In regards to any imaging, the CT report stated there was no sign of stenosis or fracture in the cervical spine--only a "gentle, scoliotic curve," while the thoracic showed no stenosis or misalignment. Today (5/27/12), I have traces of light tingling on the top of my feet and face (cheeks).
I still feel a sort of light leg weakness, and there are occasional light tingling right on the upper back (levator scapulae and superspinatus muscles), which I told the neurologist has come and gone for the past two years (but not consistent relapsing/remitting symptoms). Occasional sharp "needle" pain at the base of the neck's rear happened twice today. Im's so frightened of being paralyzed for any reason or degree, and right now, my PCP is trying slowly to get a specialist--the aforementioned MS specialist, and an orthopedic physician to diagnose what may be my issue.
Yes, I do not even know if I will need a surgeon, so my PCP is seeking the right doctor, but i'm so fearful every waking moment (i've tried to fight it, but the uncertainty is almost maddening), that I just need someone else to talk to for even a sliver of hope (though I know you cannot diagnose me). Since it has been proven I have some disk degeneration in my lumbar, i'm fearful that it is in my neck. I wonder if any vitamin supplements can help me, as i'm already taking calcium and vitamin D for my MS issues.
Any reply you can offer will be much appreciated in this time of--well, i'll say it--desperate need.
Thank you for reading this.
