No one knows for sure what exactly causes polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR). But rest easy, because this condition usually goes away just as mysteriously as it came. I suspect the root cause of PMR is related to neurogenic inflammation, which means that the nervous system for some reason is triggering an inflammatory reaction. Neurogenic inflammation is now being mentioned in professional circles as being related to everything from migraine headaches and sciatica. Again, no one knows for sure what triggers this type of inflammation.

The best thing you can do is the focus on your health and follow up with your doctor.

THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION!

2MG OF BETAMETHASONE INJECTION DID THE JOB!

ERS AND CRP DECREASED SIGNIFICANTLY.

AFTER TWO WEEKS I NEEDED ANOTHER INJECTION...THE PAIN CAME BACK!

NEUROGENIC INFLAMMATION CAN BE INDUCED BY A PHISICAL TRAUMA?

I READ THAT PMR IS CHRONIC AND NEVER GOES AWAY?

IWOULD NOT LIKE TO BE ON STEROIDS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!

THANKS AGAIN!!
