I just had a consultation with my sport docto, and he wants to do the same thing to me, check out this link http://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/index.jsp?action=article&o=41410. According to the doc they don't add any steroids to the blood, I'm still researching myself and will post anything I find. I have patellar tendonitis and it's been a nightmare. Be sure to do your research and get a second opinion if your doctor gives you the run around. I did physical therapy for a year until they finally did an MRI and found that I had a tear if the patellar tendon. Now they're going to do ultrasound of my knee and are waiting for me to decide if I want the injection.
