How soon should a steroid injection into the knee give relief?

I have quite advanced osteoarthritis but at 54 yrs old they won't replace the knee, hence the injection. How soon after the injection will I start to feel the effect and when will it be fully in my system maintaining maximum relief? My only hobby is walking and I also am part of a...
