I am over weight for my height. Diagnosis first discovered when my knee was clicking and popping when I would stand to walk. Alot of pain on the back of my knee & right inner region limited my ability to walk without a limp. Since December I have been taught strenghtening exercises-work on hamstring to losen up. Antiinflammatories from motrin to mobic. The clicking & popping stopped. The pain decreased greatly as long as I take antiinflammatories. Instructed no treadmill or exercise bike (which I was doing prior too lose weight). MRI didn't show a tear but above dx. I have lost close to 20 lbs->16lbs of fat) so far & doing strengthening exercises( supervised wellness program). MD is suggesting injection if no improvement in a few weeks. To make matters worst I had a traumatic fall over a duffle bag type suitcase and hit the ground (cement floor)face down on both knees. No further damage I know of. MD not aware yet. MD have told me I will have a total knee in years to come. Are injections appriopriate at this time & even arthroscopic procedure to see what's in there that may not show on scans? The tenderness is back rt front knee cap area? fall. Your thoughts?
