Q: can injections of hyaluronic acid be used for osteoarthritis of the thumb

I have arthritis of my thumb which is interferring with my work and daily activities...it is very painful....I am a Registered Nurse and am aware of the hyaluronic acid study that is on going at NYC Hospital for Special Surgery....any suggestions ?  I also have arthritis in both knees but to date...it is not debilitating...   Thank You
