Dar CMPS,

Of course, a diagnosis cannot possibly be made over the internet.  There are many different entities that can cause toe pain in a runner.  Only your doctor could make a diagnosis of arthritis in your toe for you.  I would encourage you to visit your doctor if you have toe pain.

Arthritis can develop in any joint in the body.  Certain joints, such as the large weight-bearing joints (hips and knees) are more prone to develop osteoarthritis.  However, hands, wrists and toes are also susceptible to developing osteoarthritis.

I hope you find this helpful information.
