Q: I had a left hip replaced 7 months ago. I have frequent pain, leg is 5/8" shorter, is this normal?

Left hip replacement 7 months ago. A "Magnum" hip was installed.  I have frequent pain, especially when changing from sitting to standing, and laying on my left side while sleeping. I am healthy, 6' @ 185 lbs. Age 59 and active. My left leg is now 5/8" shorter than the right. I have started using lifts in my shoes which seems to help somewhat. Question; Is this leg length difference within a range considered an "acceptable result" from a hip replacement operation.

Thank you for your input into this matter.
