A new study has found that the anticlotting med Coumadin (warfarin) is more effective than aspirin at preventing stroke in older people with atrial fibrillation. One researcher said the study, the largest of its kind ever undertaken, suggests Coumadin should be the treatment of choice for people over the age of 75.
