Dutch researchers have found that patients with hip or knee arthritis have a better prognosis if they continue to do their physical therapy exercises after completing a supervised exercise therapy at a medical facility. The study also showed that patients who followed their health care provider's recommendations for exercise and a physically active lifestyle had less pain, improved muscle strength, and better range of motion in their affected joints.
