The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new generic version of the painkiller Relafen. The generic form of the drug, nabumetone, is generally prescribed to treat patients with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Officials with drugmaker Mylan Inc. say the generic formula will be available in both 500 mg and 750 mg tablets.
