FDA approves Humira for ankylosing spondylitis

The Food and Drug Administration has approved Humira (adalimumab) for the treatment of the inflammatory-arthritis condition ankylosing spondylitis (AS). AS is an autoimmune disease that causes back pain and stiffness and can result in complete spinal fusion. Humira is already approved for use in rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis.
