Generic Name: GLUCOSAMINE - ORAL

Glucosamine Relief Oral Precautions

Before taking glucosamine, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to shellfish (e.g., shrimp, crab); or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product:

  • diabetes
  • asthma

Liquid forms of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence, or liver disease. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about using this product safely.

This product is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor for more details.

It is unknown if this product passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Glucosamine Relief Oral Side Effects

Diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, or heartburn may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

If your doctor has directed you to use this medication, remember that he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including:

  • rash
  • itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat)
  • severe dizziness
  • trouble breathing
