TAKE A NATURAL APPROACH TO STRONG BONES! IT WORKS

By Redqueen5557 Saturday, December 17, 2011

For anyone who is terrified of taking the drugs they try to push on you for osteoporosis - take the natural approach- it really does work.

Dont believe that eating yogurt and drinking healthy dairy products will hurt the bone it wont - it will add strength and its an easy way to do it . Also healthy raw if possible veggies and fruits help. Weight bearing exercise is a must it puts tension on the bone which forces it to grow- try a weight vest when walking around , I love the one by NYKNYC it looks gorgeous and it really makes me stronger so I know it is strengthening my bones and the whole body too. Next

get out and walk- walking in the fresh air and sun is very healthy and the sun in moderation makes bone stronger .

Some also take a vitamin but I would only take a really good vitamin that is natural no chemicals or junk . And that is it it works - I know lots of women who tried this approach and they are getting stronger bone !

Hi Redqueen5557, thanks for sharing your advice through our SharePost option.  I agree with you on most of what you've said and believe most doctors would as well.  However, we can't single out one particular weight vest, since that would be advertising a particular product.

Anyone who has spinal problems, like degenerative disc/spinal arthritis, osteoporosis of the spine, scoliosis and anklyosing spondilitis, among other spinal problems, need to be very careful with weighted vests because they can cause more harm than good.  If you want to look into any weighted vest be sure you don't have these types of problems because the added weight can be very detrimental to your disc space (causing it further collapse) and harmful to anyone who has already had a spinal fracture.

If you and your doctor decide you can use this device, be sure that you start with the lowest weights and work up "if" you can use this and don't have any of the above conditions.  Added weight targeted to the spine can be dangerous in many individuals, so do plenty of research.

Please refrain from advising particular brands of weighted vest, as that is against our Terms of Service (TOS).

Good luck to all and do your homework on these many differing kinds of vests.  If you feel any pain while using it, discontinue use asap!  Spinal compression fractures can occur easily with these if you have low t-scores (below -2.5) or for someone with an already weak spine who has osteopenia and a high frax risk.
