Hi Phyllis:  Welcome to our community, and thank you so much for sharing your wonderful words of wisdom.

When we're first diagnosed with osteoporosis, some of us tend to go into a tail spin, trying to figure out what to do next, what meds to take, asking ourselves how cautious do we need to be to protect our bones, and in the process lose the innate knowledge we already possess.

All your advice on staying active, practicing balance, doing exercise, eating a good diet--including the occasional no-no--and laughter are the cornerstones of being a healthy happy individual regardless of the challenges we face.

I totally agree on eliminating stress since it's such a non-productive thing that does far more bad than good, and doesn't resolve anything, it's a waste of precious time and energy with horrible side effects.

Keep up the good work and good advice, we all need to be reminded that within us is the key to good health.  We may have wonderful Dr.'s, but you're right they don't know us completely and can only provide so much help. The rest of the work and eventually success, is within us in our daily activities, attitude, healthy choices, treatment decisions and a lot of laughter.

Thanks for enlightening us, for those times when we can forget what's really important in life that will lead us to great health and a long wonderful life!Smile

So much wonderful, sensible advice. I'm going to print this out and hang it up next to my computer! I agree, especially about laughter and chocolate. Wink Thanks again - I hope you post here again... PJH
