Forteo to treat broken bones after partial humerus replacement due to AVN

My 49 year old husband has COPD and treatment for this is Prednisone. This steriod use caused Avascular Necrosis. This led to a partial humerus replacement and during the op, a spiral fracture of the humerus. Forteo was recommended to regrow bone and used for 2 years and after the 1st year dropped to every other day.

Since coming off of Foreto, the leg and chest cramps have been much worse, before it would be aleiviated when the dose was administered ? This side effect was actually becoming a treatment for cramps which had also been a problem during steriod use.

Since coming off of Forteo and onto fossamax, due to extreme osteoporosis, my husband breathing has worsened gradually over the weeks. I am wondering if there has been any previous reports of COPD being mildly aleiviated by Forteo..perhaps another positive side effect previously un-linked ?

If anyone has any input regarding this matter I can also have my e-mail addy posted as annieangelwells@hotmail.com.
