Hi PJ, thanks for the great article on depression and osteoporosis.  I have several friends who have to take meds for depression and they too can cause bone loss so it's sort of a double whamy :(  The SSRI's like Lexapro®, Prozac® and Zoloft® can cause bone loss, but if you have depression and it needs to be treated what are you gonna do???  I don't think either of them have figured out if the drugs or the depression caused their bone loss, or if it would have happened anyway.

Thanks for enlightening us since there sure seems to be a ton of things that lead to bone loss.

Hope the snows not too bad...

Pam

Treatments, and the treatments to deal with treatment, can be a vicious catch-22. I hope your friends are doing as well as can be expected.

As for snow - we've had about 12" the entire winter! Nothing up here for the longest time, it's concentrating on D.C., Maryland, and Pennsylvania...

Take care, Pam - PJH
