Weight-bearing exercises, weight-bearing exercises… I kept hearing that phrase, from my bone nurse, my oncologist, and “osteo-pros”—those of you who’ve been at this bone health thing a lot longer than I have. But I didn’t really know what a weight-bearing exercise...

I don't get why elliptical or stair stepping would help osteo. There is no impact. I thought that is why someone was saying that walking didn't help. I think fast walking might, since there is probably more impact than slow jogging. Any one out there have input?

I agree.... I am always told to WALK in the first place.  Every single Dr. and every single piece of advice I have gotten for my Osteoporosis is walk, walk, walk..  I have been researching for a few months now on what will help.  This brings me back to my original idea of buying an Elliptical.  I wanted this for many reasons, but have read many articles stating it is good for Osteoporosis bone building.  Then again, I read more today on other sites, that it is NOT good.  Frustrating!  Isn't it?  The other day, my Dr. told me that he prefers the Pro Ski machine by Nordick Track over anything else.
