Thank you for the informative recap of the Dexa scan procedure.  That helps me a lot, especially since I will be having my first Dexa scan tomorrow.  I appreciate your help, and I feel much better about going for the procedure now!

I just had a ct scan this morning, and had to swallow that nasty shake before the exam. I was told that would be it.... I have a history of panic attacks. so the nurse is walking me back for the ct scan and i sign papers and all... and she begins to prep me for dye through an iv. I freak.  never had that done before. I have had ct scan and drank the shake, but never an iv.  so i cry, i get nervous, i tell her the dr never said i would have to do that... but i finally said.. ok.. you said 5 minutes, i am on the table an getting through that test.  she puts the saleen in the iv. i aint looking at my arm while she is doing it... her knowing i am panicking anyway.  so i feel it warmth up my arm and so on.. she said i am going to step out of the room.... i get ahold of myself and start calming down, thinking.. ok i can do this.. iv in.. dye in... im good.   she comes back in... and says, ok now i am ready to inject the dye in you... i was like... you havent done that yet... uhhh 5 minutes is done gone.... so i get a hold of my emotions while she injects the dye...   i suddenly get a feeling of needing to pee.. gets warm down there and the warmth doesnt get no higher than my upper stomach.. thank god..

but i got through a ct scan.  I am scheduled monday for a bone dexi scan.. and i came across ur sight here... i am so thankful there is NO INJECTIONS, or surprises... I think I can rest tonight until Monday when I have to go and have my dexi scan done... thankyou so much..... and God Bless U.

I'm so sorry you have tough times with scans. Luckily, the DEXA is the easiest one you'll ever have! The toughest thing you need to do is lie down and bend your legs at the knees... Smile Hope you get good results. Cheers- PJH
