hi...i am new, but have so many questions!  i was only 51 when my DEXA come back with bad results...........my hips are three deviations from the norm..........i can't take any oral meds, nor any with hormones as i am a breast cancer survivor.....i just started boniva shots, and no one warned me about mega calcium and kidney stones.........i also am having weird belly reactions.....soooo, anyone out there have some advice, or web sites to visit specifically about boniva injections and/or the kidney connection???  thanks!

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us, Kathie. Unfortunately some of the common breast cancer treatments have been linked with increased incidence of osteoporosis. It is very fortunate that you have been so vigilant about your bone health. Hopefully the right regimen for your situation can help you regain some bone mass, I wish you the best.

At age 58 I too have just recently found that I have kidney stones. I was dianosed with osteoporosis about 7 years ago.   I don't take much calcium but I know I should.  I took Fosamax for several years with not enough improvement.  My dr. advised Forteo.  I was on the injections for 18 months and now am taking Boniva.  I have also suspected that the osteroporosis meds could cause kidney stones.
