After Cancer and then Osteo!!!!

By Pam M Tuesday, June 05, 2007

  Hello all.

I just wanted to say hello to everyone here. This is a little about me and my experience with my health to everyone..I am 34 years old, Female and married with three children.I have Breast cancer, had a Radical Modified Mestectomy done, then had to get that drained three times due to fluid build up. Have Lymphedima now in my arm. Then started my Chemo thereapy had that for 6 months "Awefull Pain", then Had to get my overies removed since my cancer is hormon, progest, estrogen postive then started with major bone pain. They had a hard time figureing out what meds to give me so they didnt start up my cancer again.Took 5 months to figure it out why i was in so much pain. Had bone scans, altrasounds,CT scans, x-rays and then i demanded a bone density test to be done and then i got my answers to the pain they all thought i was making up and didnt know where or what to do with me. "Got alot of sorrys after that one", Now they are trying every med they can think of to get it under control.I just started my Arimidex for my cancer 2 months ago and i have to be on it for 5 years and my bone density is really bad . They say that i may have to choose between my bone or getting cancer back as i have a very aggrestive cancer. My meds i take are now up to 15 a day or so. I feel some days are like im a pig to them but yet i know they are really trying now that they know what they are trying to fix.I just wanted to say that anyone that is going threw any pain? YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! Thanks so much... Pam

Thanks so much you gave me goose bumps.. But really feel for all that are in pain. When i go to my clinic to volenteer i tell yea, its hard when i see older people there because im young but if i could take it from the older ones i would in a flash. They have worked so hard all thier life and now the are stuck in such pain. My wish wuld be for all to be healthy in life young or old. Thanks again for your reply it was uplifting to me. Thanks Love:Pam

Thank you for sharing your extremely trying experience, I really admire your courage and strength for fighting on -- against the cancer and also with those who wouldn't respond adequately to your medical problems. Your children are very lucky to have such an amazing mother and I wish you and your family the best as you confront these very tough challenges. Warmly, Lila
