Vitamin D

By Rita B Wednesday, January 09, 2008
I was diagnosed w/osteoporsis 10 yr ago at the age of 51.  I've been taking fosamax and having a dexascan annually since that time.  I also have a thyroid condition and take levoxyl daily. Bone density improved & the dexascan recommendation in 2005  was changed to 1x2yr.  In '06 was advised by endochrinoligist to take 50,000 IU of vitamin D 2 x week; one year later, blood levels of D improved dramatically, and dexascan showed an over all increase in bone density of 14%.

This is good information for me, as I am not taking Vitamin D at this point. Guess I go right now and pick some up. Big Grin
