The Miraculous Human Body and Your Osteoporosis Questions

By Neil Gonter, MD, Health Pro Thursday, June 22, 2006

I have always been intrigued with the miraculous workings of the human body. It is fascinating how so many intricate systems can work together in harmony. I decided to combine this interest with my desire to help people and become a physician.

The age of information is upon us and it has really changed the way we view healthcare. Data is abundant and it is necessary to sort out the relevant and truthful information from what is not. It is important for the patients to become educated in their medical conditions, so they can be their own best advocates. I feel it is essential for my patients to understand their condition and feel comfortable and at ease to discuss their concerns with me.

Osteoporosis is a relatively new field of interest in the past 10 years. As we are living longer and more productive lives, it is important to avoid and/or treat this disease appropriately. There are continuously new and exciting developments in this field. I hope to answer your questions and keep everyone current with all the new information as well as to dispel any misunderstandings that you may have.

Please submit to me any questions you may have regarding the prevention and/or treatment of this serious and debilitating disease. Also be sure to review other posts I have written to see if I have already addressed your concern in another entry.
