This blog is great...
Please see Dr. Gonter's previous blog on Vitamin D.

This month's topic was Calcium. How much do you want him to write about? Maybe he should talk about magnesium...salt intake...
I have looked for Bioavailability data, to understand the differences between the different types, and didn't really found anything that convinced me that calcium citrate is better than any other , although it's good reputation. can you please direct me to relevent articles that support this higher bioavailability calim?
regarding calcium lactate and gluconate- probably more pills will be needed, but absorption is higher when calcium is taken in low quantites than in 1 big quintity- do you agree ?
I heard on a local news show that calcium can interefere with the thyroid or thyroid medication (I'm not sure which they said). However I have osteopenia (am 63 years old) and take Caltrate 600+ twice a day; I also have low thyroid and need to take Synthroid.
Do you have any thoughts on this?
