My T-scores range from -1.65 in L1 to -3.18 in L4. I assume that one has to look at this from the "worst link in the chain" perspective, rather than the average. I am also assuming that osteoporosis can affect individual vertebra more or less than others.
I read somewhere on another site, that readings for some of vertebra can be affected by arthritis or scoliosis, both of which I have. So, if the -3.18 could have been an anomaly, then might that not be cause for re-testing to be sure? Maybe even a CT scan? This could be important in deciding whether or not ot start Forteo, which has some risks. Or, is it common for the scores to get progressively worse as you get lower on the spine?
I will be seeing my doctor next week. So, I'm wanting to get ready to argue for more testing if it might lead to better information about what's going on down there.

Larry,
Anytime you feel that you'd like more testing to be able to make the best decision for yourself, push for it. Peace of mind in the treatment path you take is important.
Best of luck. Keep us posted.
