  • That is the message resulting from a study at Ohio University about young women who exercise a great deal without compensating with adequate food intake. If a woman's menstrual cycle stops as a consequence of rigorous exercise and a restricted diet, that is a warning sign of bone loss, researchers said, which can eventually lead to osteoporosis when they are older.
